Tree Scout

Our eyes and ears on the ground!

Tree Scouts help us assess the best time to schedule our harvest parties. You will conduct site visits at registered tree sites to assess the quality, quantity, and ripeness of fruit so that we can determine if and when to schedule a harvesting party.
Good communication and reporting are essential to this position.

Tree Scout Responsibilities:

  • Attend Tree Scout Training Orientation
  • Conduct site visits (at least 12 over the course of the season) at the homes of registered tree owners, upon request.
We generally budget 15 minutes per site visit but sometimes they are shorter.
  • Submit site visit reports to, and communicate with, GAP staff in a timely manner.

All the necessary materials and information will be provided. You can expect to spend approximately 2 hours per week on this volunteer position, which begins June 20 and ends October 31.
